I guess I like it. I purchase Shooter's Bible every year from Amazon for my husband, who lives,breathes, and works with firearms. He works for a major Outdoors company, of course in the Firearms Department. The book is always well read and helps him with his job and fuels his love for firearms. My husband thinks Shooter's Bible is probably the best general reference book on the market. I do purchase more specific books for him but not on a yearly basis. Every year he takes the previous year's book to Canada for our friend who is on a limited income. He in turn loves to browse through it on those COOOLLLDDDD winter evenings. This book is my staple Christmas gift for a true gun lover.
This is not what I expected ! Back in the day, I can remember my Dad always having a Shooter's Bible in his gun room. However, I was looking for a good reference book for the value of used guns - and this is not it. I guess I should have read the write up on this a little closer, but this book does not even mention old guns. I have since purchased an on line subscription giving me the value of older guns and that is what I needed. This Shooter's Bible is full of information but I think I can get much of that information on line. I'll hang on to this book but more than likely it will gather dust on my book case.
I was very disappointed by this. I had expected it to contain much more information. I regret this purchase due to how few handguns were included and how little info there was on them. I can't imagine ever referring to it. Not at all what I expected.
This is a reference book to determine the cost/worth of firearms. That’s it.Rename the book “buying guide†because using the term “bible†implies go-to reference for firearm stats. I was under the impression that this book would give stats on each firearm listed; things like maximum effective firing range.If you buy and sell firearms, then I’m sure this is a useful reference. For the rest of the public that just wants to learn about the specifications of guns, keep looking.
Had everything in it I needed for research. Left out a couple firearms I was looking for. The ballistic pages were especially helpful.
Wanted a complete referance and this book is just that. Could have had a few articles too, but was lacking here. I was left wanting a few explainations here and there and just did not have them.
Chock full of info. A great reference for anything gun related. A must for any library.
This is just what I need for reference for firearms and ammo. Now I can find the ammo I want to shoot and then find the gun I want to shoot it with.
